Thematic Weeks: Water and Cities

From June 25 to 28
Thematic axes: Local Governments and Governance; Development of Urban Surroundings.

Several crucial topics will be addressed such as water efficiency in cities; city models; new technologies; urban landscape; the role of civil society; uncertainty and climate change; and, finally, the role of city networks. The Thematic Week will end up with an important commitment in which participating cities will become deeply involved in the topics addressed throughout the week, by a closing session that will host their majors. Topics will be strongly focused into assessing the main orientations on how to modify present urban trends to accommodate for water management improvement, to deeply modify urban landscapes and introducing sustainable improvements to the quality of life of urbanites worldwide by means of modifying prevailing terms of involvement among urban dwellers and their surrounding environment.
