Founded in 1900 and one of only two independent breweries remaining in Spain, La Zaragozana still has the spirit of a small company in a constant state of evolution. It manufactures nine varieties of beer. Innovation and quality are its two main allies.
The company was a pioneer in Spain with the launch of its alcohol-free beer AMBAR SIN, its Pale Ale AMBAR 1900, the only European Beer made with cane sugar, AMBAR NEGRA and the Vodka Beer Sputnik. It exports to 14 countries, including the United States, Australia, England, France, Italy and Japan.
La Zaragozana manufactures 50 million litres of beer every year and more than 18,000 people visit its factory every year to learn how high technology bottling techniques are perfectly compatible with traditional production methods.
Ambar beers, in their different categories, sponsor the Autonomous Region of Aragón’s most important cultural, social and sporting events. The company is also heavily committed to the environment and the conversation of endangered animal species, having won many prizes such as the Félix de Azara awarded by the Provincial Government of Huescar and the Sociedad de Amigos del Museo Paleontológico (Society of Friends of the Palaeontology Museum) of Zaragoza University.
La Zaragoza is also the name of the company group to which it belongs, and which is among Aragón’s top 30 companies in terms of turnover (100 million euros and 750 employees). The company also bottles mineral waters and soft drinks, and distributes numerous brands of drinks to the catering industry in Aragón, Catalonia and the Autonomous Regions of Valencia, La Rioja and Madrid.
