backThe 5th Forum initiated a discussion on the relationship between water and agriculture and emphasized the need to define two types of agriculture: one an economic activity like any other, subject to the rules of the market, and therefore bound to pay the actual price of water, and the other a generator of environmental services that are important to society as a whole.
