Eduardo Mestre, director of the Water Tribune, launched the summer course 'Water and development: political, structural and agricultural aspects of cooperation for development,' with an address focusing on the geopolitics of water. The course started on 23 July at 9:30 a.m., at the Public University of Navarra (UPNA). Through the course, students looked at water from the perspective of developing countries, and within the framework of international cooperation. The main aim of the course was to encourage debate between experts from various fields of interest.

At 8:00 p.m., the documentary 'A Dream of Water' was aired at the Golem Yamaguchi Cinema Theatre. In the documentary, five children from different countries around the world tell us about the water-related issues they deal with every day. In Africa, a child named Crépin from Benin tells us that fishing, which is his family’s livelihood, has been negatively impacted by lake pollution. From Holland, Murielle explains that she has to leave her home to help strengthen the dam that protects her village from the sea. Nandini shares with us the journey she travels every day to bring water to his family in Bombay. In the Gaza Strip in Palestine, Isam and Anath reveal that sharing water is just one more tension that one of the world’s most unstable regions must cope with. Finally, from the Atacama Desert in Chile, Julio teaches us how to use our imagination to deal with drought.
