BOB DYLAN TO SING FOR WATER AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Dylan presents a new version of “A hard rain’s a-gonna fall” for Expo Zaragoza 2008

The famous singer has written a version of his song which was composed in 1969, “A hard rain’s a-gonna fall”, showing commitment to the values of Expo Zaragoza 2008: water and sustainable development.

Bob Dylan, who was recently awarded the Prince of Asturias Prize, is to collaborate with the International Exposition by fronting the publicity campaign for the great environmental event which is to take place next year. His manager, Johnna Jackson, stated this week that “Bob Dylan personally chose the song and has made a unique and original version for this project. He feels personally very proud to be able to participate”.

The new advertisement will be broadcasted on television channels throughout Spain from Monday 17th December. With Dylan’s music, the campaign will symbolise the importance and the global awareness that society must have of our planet’s resources, especially water, and the care that must be taken of them.

Also, the biggest selling group of 2005 in Spain, Amaral, is the act chosen by Bob Dylan and Expo 2008 to interpret the Spanish version of the song.

Expo Zaragoza 2008 will open its doors from 14th June to 14th September next year and will receive, within its surface area of 25 hectares, over 5 million visitors. Among the official participants there are over 100 countries and many companies, international institutions and NGOs. Expo 2008 will host over 3,400 shows and a considerable number of conferences and debates on the subject of “Water and Sustainable Development”.
